When I became a christian I told God he could send me anywhere, but please don’t send me back home to Belgium. There were 2 reasons for that:

1. I have a love-hate relationship with Belgium and I didn’t want to go back as I had a difficult time there as a teenager and too many memories that reminded me of some dark and lonely times, and

2. Belgians are stubborn people! I know as it took God quite some time to bring me to my knees and surrender to Him completely.

Now about a year ago God reminded me that Belgians spiritually live in darkness and that they also deserve a Saviour. As I started seeing things from God’s perspective I grew a desire to reach my people, specifically the dutch-speaking part “Flanders”. With an ocean and a continent in between I saw an opportunity to put my media production skills to work. As I am not there physically, I am able to reach Flanders through the internet with videos and graphics. It definitely feels like a giant mountain to climb or a David-Goliath story, but it’s a great opportunity to experience and learn that “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” Matthew 19:26
